Install AzureStack Development Kit in Hyper-V

First follow the log and it is almost cover everything.

It require D: drive while prepare the lab. At some point it will failed due to cannot access D drive.

Wait until  it Finish


Verify about 13 VMs in Hyper-V

After install complete follow the post install steps.

Test-Azurestack
Azurestack\cloudadmin

Download Image

Create plan


Create offer

Change the plan to public

Get subscription to your account


Finally, Create or upload VMs.

Devstack is very good for install openstack in one machine, with a few steps. https://docs.openstack.org/devstack/latest/ Issue is VM cannot start... it stuck on "booting from Hard Disk..." RHV native VMs image backup solution (export as ova)

Red Hat Virtualization come with a feature "export OVA", it can export the running VM(powered up) and save it as OVA. Although this ova format cannot import back to vmware, but it is good enough to backup the critical virtual machine and restore it if necessary. First the VM will auto take snapshot and copy the disk and remove the snapshot after export finish. It same as what backup software does and backup software is doing better such as incremental backup, schedule, select VM to backup etc. 1.
